Mr Haldane opened the triennial conference of the International Geodetic Association, ,and welcomed the geodetists on behalf of tbe Government. Mr Knibbs is representing Australia. Sir George Darwin, on behalf of the Royal Society, stated that Australian and Canadian surveyors endorsed the importance of the British Government’s support, and he added: “Australia has already done much good work.”
