THE VICTORIAN BUDGET. United Puicsb Association —Coi’YinpiiT MELBOURNE, Sept. 22. The State Treasurer has delivered the Budget. The revenue for the year ended June 12th was £8,195,400, and the expenditure £8,048,643, a surplus of £146,757-. Railways, produced a surplus o-f £300,000, while in the general revenue there was a deficit of £153,297. The estimated revenue for the current year is £8,427,650, and the expenditure £8,421,268. There will he no increase in taxation, -but it is proposed under the new Income Tax Bill to provide additional revenue next financial year. THE FEDERAL FINANCE BILL (Received September 24, 12.15 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Sept. 23. The Federal House is making slow progress with the Finance Bill. The chief objection is to fixing the 25s per capita payment in perpetuity. THE SOUTH AUSTRALIAN BUDGET. (Received September 24, 1 a.m.) ADELAIDE, Sept. 23. The State Treasurer delivered the Budget to-day. The year ended with a surplus of £291,000. The estimated revenue for the current year is £3,549,849, and the expenditure £3,515,000.
