They killed 29 Jews, and wounded 150 seriously, and 1000 slightly. The Jews killed three and wounded 18 in self-defence. The police did not interfere* The attack lasted 72 hours. Two Jewish lads were thrown on a bonfire. The Governor only summoned the troops in response to the urgent entreaties of a, Jewish deputation. The outbreak was quelled in a few hours. No arrests were made.
