Y.M.C.A. CLUB. A meeting of members of . tbe Y.M.C.A. Cricket Club will bo held in the Association's rooms this evening, at 7 p.m., for the purpose of electing a captain, vice-captain, and selection committee. CANTERBURY "CRICKET ASSOCIATION. I'Per Press Association.! CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 24. The Canterbury Cricket Association at its- meeting to-night received the following cable from Buckingham, of the Esssex Club, who had been selected as coach for the season: “You have not arranged a passage according to agreement, have accepted Africa, and can substitute Hayes.” It was explained that all arrangements possible had been made here, but a hitch occurred, with the steamship agents either in Sydney or London. After considerable discussion it was decided not to get a coach from England this season, but to procure one from Australia. A PROFESSIONAL COACH FOR DUNEDIN. DUNEDIN, Sept. 24. The Otago Cricket Association intend employing a coach from Australia for the coming season. Moreover, •word has been received that an international player, one of the best allround of to-day, intends to settle in Dunedin. He should reach tho Dominion during December.
