COTTAGE DESTROYED AT HASTINGS.
[Per Press Association.! HASTINGS, Sept. 25. A five-roomed cottage, owned by J. R. Newrick, and occupied by A. T. Devonport, was destroyed by fire at daylight- to-day. The insurances are, Building £2OO in the Norwich Office, furniture £l5O in the Australian Alliance Office. Devonport lost a stock of patent medicines, which were uninsured. valued at £2OO. A chemical fireengine saved the adjoining cottages. EIGHT-ROOMED HOUSE DESTROYED. FEILDING, Sept, 25. An eight-roomed house at Rewa, owned and occupied by Arthur Green, farmer, was totally destroyed by fire last night,
