New Lynn Handicap, 70 sovs, 5 furlongs.—Fleet Arrow 8.5 1, Aristos 7.6 2, Frontino 8.1 3. Also started: Madame Soult 7.6, Aoroa 7.3, Winhaston 7.4, Ladv Dot 7.3, Censure 7.3. Lady Weasel 7.2, Romantic 7.0, Hinuera 7.0, Ben Battle 7.0, Leafire 7.0 and Lady Jane 7.0. Won by five lengths. Time, lmin 6sec.
Welter Handicap, 80 sovs, 6 furlongs. —Seldom 9.9 and Mistime 8.3 deadheat 1, Spectre 8.0 3. Algo started: Aristocrat, Landlock, All’s Well, Lycia, Ripple Lady Flioebe, Flying Soult and Lloyds. A great race home was witnessed, Mistime just getting up in time to make a dead-heat with Seldom, with Spectre a neck away third. Time lmin 19sec.
Second Handicap Steeplechase, 3 miles.—First Barrel 9.7 1. Pierre 10.5 2, Cavaliero 10.5 3. Also started: Lingerer 11.0, Mozart 10.7, King Hippo 9.10. Won comfortably by four lengths. Grandstand Handicap, 130 sovs, 1 mile.—Loch Buhie 8.5 1, Epsom Lass 6.10 2, First Gun 7.2 3. Also started: Miss Winnie 8.4, Coromandel 7:6, Inglis 7.3. Won bv two lengths. Time, Imin 44 3-ssec. WANGANUI RACES.
WANGANUI, Sept.. 25. There was fine weather for the second day of the Wanganui Jockey Club’s spring meeting. The totalisator 'handled £9278, as against £10,654 on the second day last year. The total for the meeting w r as £16,364, as against £18,341 last year. The following wore the results:
Owen Handicap.—lrish Rifle 1, Boanerges 2, Longner 3. Won by two lengths. Time, Imin 17sec. , Moutoa Hack Handicap.—Waiata 1, Thetis 2, Apol'iinaris 3. Scratched: Captain Bell and Kilindini. There were only head s between the placed horses. Time, Imin 17sec. Brunswick Hurdles.—Mount Cook 1, Exmoor 2, Whakura 3. All started. Won by ajength. Time, 3min. Aramoho Hack Hurdles. —Wirral 1, Waimaria 2, Whimper 3. All started. Won by a length and a-lialf. Time, 2min 45sec.
