FIRES.
SIN-ROOMED HOUSE DESTROY El/ i Per Press Association; 1 WELLINGTON, Sept. 27. A six-roomed house at Mataitai. owned by Mrs. Brightwell and occupied by she and her husband, was burnt on Saturday, evening. The supposed cause is a lighted match been thrown down inadvertently just before Mr. and Mrs. Brightwell left the house. The house was insured for £6OO in the Phoenix, and the furniture for £3OO in the Royal. A house adjoining, owned byMrs. Louisa Price and occupied James Burberry, was rather severely damages.
A POST OFFICE BURNED. NELSON, Sept. 27. The Post Office at Manakao, Hope Saddle, on the Tadmore railway extension, has been destroyed by fire.
OFFICE AND STORE DESTROYED
A small office and store was destroyed by fire at Pretty Y alley, Beigrove, yesterday- morning. The fire partiallydestroyed the dwelling of Mr. Bryant, fanner. The insurance is in the Royal Office.
