ARRANGEMENTS FOR HIS RECEPTION. [Pim Press Association.l AUCKLAND, Sept. 28. Preparations for the civic welcome to the Prime Minister on his return from the Imperial Defence Conference are being actively forwarded, and a detailed programme has been arranged by the reception committee. 11.M.5. Challenger, with the Prime Minister aboard, will arrive in Auckland at 1 p.m. on Thursday, and the landing will take place probably at 3 iJcloo'k. In the military parade from the man-o -war steps. 900 cadets and 500 volunteers are expected to take part. Veterans under Captain Archer will form a guard of honour at the landing stage, and several bands will be in attendance. Ihe landing stage will be decorated by the Harbor Board, and Sir Joseph Ward, on arrival at the man-o’-war steps, will be received by the Mayor (Mr. C. D. Grey) and the Chairman of the Harbor Board (the Hon. E. Mitchelson). There will be a large gathering of Parliamentarians. Business people have been invited to observo a half-holiday.
