HER VISIT TO GISBORNE

A large number of children from the town and country schools paid a vi it to the warship Prometheus in the Bay yesterday afternoon, and the s.s Tuatea also took out a number of the general public

In the afternoon several o f the officers were conveyed to To Arai by motor car, and again to-day a party of them will go for a motor drive to' Te Ivaraka. starting at 11 a.m. The party will then return to town, and partake of afternoon tea. by invitation of the Mayoress, at the Mayoral residence on Whataupoko. Yesterday evening several of the officers of the Prometheus were present at the Orchestral Society’s concert in His Majesty’s Theatre. The Tnatea will leave the wharf at 1.30 p.m. to-day for the warship, and probably at intervals afterwards. On Thursday the first, trip will be made at 1 p.m., and frequent journeys will be made during the afternoon. The British Association football team from the vessel will play a local eleven to-day, and two Rugby teams will be jutted against local teams on the Domain to-morrow afternoon.
