THE RUGBY GAME. t~ > THURSDAY PLAYERS v. PROMETHEUS TEAM. There was only a small attendance at the Victoria Domain yesterday afternon, when a team from H.M.S. Prometheus met a team selected from the Gisborne Thursday players. The teams were evenly matched, and a close arid interesting game resulted from their meeting. Victory finally rested with the local team by the narrow margin of two points, the final scores being: Gisborne 14, Prometheus 12; For tlie naval men, tries were scored by Watkins, Ta/ppan, and Jewell, and Watkins kicked a penalty goal. Kaipara, Pollock, Campbell, and W. Neill each scored a try for the winners, and Fitzgerald converted one of them. Mr. W. Howard controlled the game.
