RIFLE SHOOTING.

MAN-OF-WARSMEN V. VOLUNTEERS. A pleasant time was spent yesterday afternoon on the Kaiti range, when a rifle-shooting match took place between teams from H.M.S. Prometheus, .the Mounted Rifles, and the Gisborne Rifles. The conditions were seven shots and a sighter at 200 yards and 600 yards. The match resulted in a win for the Gisborne Rifles bv 8 points from the Prometheus team, while the latter were 48 points ahead of the Mounted Rifles.
