RACING IN ENGLAND. United Press Association— Copyright. LONDON, Sept. 30. At the Newmarket meeting, the Jockey Club Stakes resulted: Phaleron 1, Carlowitz 2, Primer 3. SYDNEY TRAINING NOTES. (Received October 1, 10.50 a.m.) SYDNEY. October 1. In the final gallops to-day, Provocation, carrying a good weight, and going at a great rate, ran a lialf-mile in 52$ sec, and six furlongs in lmin lSsec, putting a mile and a-quarter behind in 2min losec. Considering that the ground was a bit heavy, this was, perhaps, the best gallop the horse has done here. Golden Slipper did an attractive seven furlongs in lmin 31sec. Aborigine took lmin 32 J sec over the same distance, and tired at the finish. Achillean did six furlongs in lmin 20sec; Pareee cut out seven furlongs in lmin 31sec; Lord Nolan did' a stylish nine furlongs in lmin 58$see.
