LAKE WAIKAREMOANA.

PROPOSED UTILISATION FOR MACHINERY DRIVING.

TP nit Press Association.l WAIROA. Oct. 2. At the final meeting of the Town Board a resolution was carried, inviting the co-operation of the Napier, Gisborne, and Hastings boroughs, in utilising Lake Waikaremoana for powor, for lighting, and for driving machinery. The promoters consider that if all'combined the scheme would be cheap, and with an abundant supply of light and power would make tho East Coast a great manufacturing centre. By taking a direct line it would proprobably not be more than 50 miles in any case from the site of the power house.
