TAI RAWHITI LAND BOARD.

LEASES AND TRANSFERS. The Tai Rawhiti District Maori Land Board sat in Gisborne /yesco-day. Mi. .Alex. Keefer mesidet/, and the two other members present were Messrs G. H. Bullard and Otene Beta no. The Board approved of the transfer of the lease of Mangapoi'ke 2C, from Akvviu To Ota and another to VVetini Ilikirangi. Consent to a 21 years’ leaso Mangaheia 2C and 2G to H. B. Somervell was granted on the application of Mr. R. Nolan. With regard to the application for consent to a least of Tauwharetau No. 2B to Mr. Omerod, Mr. Nolan appeared and asked for the approval of eight fresh signatures, which wore submitted. In the case of the application of John IVlachell (Mr. Hei) with regard to a 21 years’ lease of Wharaurangi No. I, from Karnkonra, consent was granted.

In the matter of the lease (21 years) of Tauwhareparae No. 18, of which Ani Ahunnku and otliers were lessors, Mr. Hei appeared for the applicant, William Frederick Sinclair, and asked the Board’s approval of other signatures, which was granted. The Board recommended the removal of the restrictions for the sale of Tukemotihi No. 3, on the application of Stewart Crerar (Mr Sandemann). The Board also agreed to recommend the removal of the restrictions on Mangalioia No. 18, 3F, Mr. A. Coleman making application on behalf of Rawiri Karaha and Hataraka Rangi. The transfer of Puhatikotiko No. 8G (part) from Hemi' Wha'barau and Mohi Tamatea Tutaki to Edmurid Woodtliorpe Ridings Bnusficld (Mr. Hei) was confirmed. The hearing of the application tor the recommendation of removal of restrictions in respect of Tualiu No. 1, applicant Thomas William Porter, was adjourned for further evidence. Adjournments to next Bitting were o-ranted in the case of Mangaheia Nos. 2K and 2B (application for consent to lease), and seyeral other cases. The Board’s next sitting will he on November Ist. •
