THE LONDON WOOL MARKET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. yesterday received the following cablegram from their London office: —“Average current London value of the undemoted descriptions of New,Zealand greasy wool: Good merino 14$d, medium merino 12£d, inferior merino 10£d, fine crossbred 15d, medium crossbred 12£d, coarse crossbred (40’s) 9£d, coarse crossbred (36’s) Bsd. Four thousand hales of wool hold over, 94,000 sold at wool sales, 32,000 taken for Continent, 6000 taken for America. Sales closed strong. As compared with last sales closing rates prices are higher about 10 to 15 per cent, for merino medium and inferior, medium crossbred, fine greasy crossbred and coarse greasy crossbred.

Prices are barely maintained. Canterbury is at 3gd, North Island 3£d. There has been no. alteration in the lamb market since last week. Canterbury is at 3fd ; North Island 3f. The beef market is weak. There is no change in prices. Now Zealand hindquarters 3-J, fores 2|d. The butter market is quiet, but firm for best quality. New Zealand 118 s, Danish 1245, Australian 114 s, Siberian 105 s. The cheese market is lifeless. New Zealand is at 575, Canadian at 565. The hemp market is firmer. Transactions are light. New Zealand good fair grade on spot is at £27 10s, fair grade on spot £26 10s, fair current Manila on spot £27, October to December shipments, New Zealand good fair grade £27, fair grade £26, fan- current Manila £26. The Manila output is 30,000 bales.
