BARBER THREATENED WITH REVOLVER AND KNIFE.

A local barber had an exciting experience on Saturday night. A man under tire influence of liquor walked m and requested to have his hair cut and a shave. Afterwards, he refused to make payment, and commenced to sing. On being pressed for payment “lie man, whoso name is Eustace Rose, drew a revolver and pulled the trigger in the barber’s face. Fortunately the weapon was not loaded. Rose tnen drew and flourished a sheath knife. The hairdresser sought refuge through the back door. He called the police sergeant, who spoke to Rose. Later the man became abusive, and asked the officer if he wanted a bash in the jaw. The sergeant’s reply was to lay the man in the gutter and relieve him of the knife and revolver. At the police court, this morning Rose said he did not remember committing the offence. The police said Rose was a new chum. He was fined £2 and cqgts.
