GISBORNE MILK SUPPLY.
SATISFACTORY TESTS
At the meeting of the Borough Council last night the following report from the Borough Inspector, Mr. J. R. Little, was received: — “At the present time there are 16 dairymen supplying milk in town. On the sth inst. I took samples from each of their milk carts as they reached town in the morning, and made the following tests with the lactometer on each sample procured to find the sporific gravity of the milk. TV. Baty 32.6 W. Y. Wilson ... ... 32.3 M. Goodman ... ... 30.4 G. Torrie 32.6 A. Wyllie 31.3 N. File 31.3 A. Wilson ... ... 32.6 TV. Martin ... ... 31.5 TV. Bell 31.3 Mr. Eddleston ... 33.3 Mr. Parker 32.3 E. Little 31.3 Mr. Gough ... ... 32.3 S. TV. Smith 31.3 J. Goldie 32.6 Mr. Hanson ... ... 31.3 “The above tests are as near as can be taken by tbe lactometer, and are a fair average, showing nothing suspicious being added to the milk. “The cans and carts in each case were kept clean.”
