PROSPECTS OF PROSPERITY.
AN OPTIMISTIC VIEW. United Press Association —Copybight. LONDON, Oct. 8. At a meeting in London of the Bank of Australasia, Mr Leslie Saunderson, a director, who was presiding, declared that the prospects of wool and wheat yields were excellent. The only unsatisfactory feature was frozen meat, but even in that there were some signs of improvements. Australia and New Zealand were difficult countries for bankers. The natural optimism of the inhabitants had tended to undue inflation of value in New Zealand. The “Times” commenting on the subject expressed a hope that the lesson learnt between 1893 and 1903 will prevent people becoming demoralised by the existing prosperity.
