ONE MAX KILLED AXD THREE INJURED. |Tnu Press Association.! CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 12. News has been received or a terrible accident at Otira tunnel this afternoon. W. Dick, shift boss, was killed, and three others, W. Rushton, J. S. Jones, and E. Gambrazzi, were injured. The men were engaged firing out at crib time. Tiiey had lighted some of the fuses, and remained too long preparing others. The first shot exploded. killing Dick instantaneously. The i lying debris struck the others in the back” while retiring. Dick was married. and leaves a young wife and cue child.
