His Honor Judge Jones was a passenger to Napier bv the Monowai lastevening, en route to Wellington. • Major Sandtmann, Adjutant of the East Coast Mounted Rifles Battalion, arrived from South by the Victoria yesterday. Captain Gumming, Harbormaster, returned by the Victoria yesterday from his vacation.
Mr, Kennett, expert for Anderson’s, Limited, in regard to electric lighting, oil engines, sheep-shearing machines, and other engineering requirements, is expected to arrive in Gisborne on Wednesday next. He may be seen at the- Gisborne Hotel, or at the Agricultural Show. Mr. Geoffrey Nyo, the advance representative of the Hugh Ward Comedy Co., which is to open a four-night season at His Majesty’s Theatre on Wednesday week, October 27th, paid a visit to Gisborne* yesterday, and made preliminary arrangements in connection with the company’s appearance here.
