MEETING OF THE PRESIDENTS. United Press Association —Copyright. NEW YORK, October 17. ' General D. Porfirio Diaz, President of Mexico, crossed his border for. the first time during, his presidency (1875), and met President Taft at El Paso. President Taft returned the visit to Taurez. There were great demonstrations in both towns. President' Diaz was attended by 3000 Mexicans and President Taft by a large body of United States troops, owing to threats of assassination, and an expected anarchist demonstration.
