Prices have advanced on account of the smallness of' shipments expected and stock being reduced. The market is temporarily excited. Holders are firm. Canterbury is at 4gd, North Island 4-Jd. Similar remarks apply to lamb. Canterbury 4f,'North Island 4s. ' The beef market is weak. Supplies of River Plate beef are heavy.' New Zealand hindquarters and forequarters are at 2§d. ■ The butter market is .quiet, but firm, for best quality only. Australian, tKis season’s, 116 s, choicest New Zealand 118 s, Danish 1325, Siberian, 107 s. The cheese market'is steady, and th© demand- moderate/- New Zealand (in small supply) is at 575. ■ The hemp:market is steady.. Prices are unchanged. New Zealand good fair grade on spot is at .£27 15s, fair grade on spot £26 15s, fair current Manila on spot £26 15s, October to Docember shipments; New-/ Zealand good fair grade £27 10s, fair grade £26 10s, fancurrent Manila £26 10s. The Manila, output is 32,000 bales. It is reported that the American market is firm, with more inquiry for Manila. The wool market is quiet, but firm.
