NAPIER MUNICIPAL BATHS

OPENED LAST NIGHT. I Pint I’kkss Association-! 1 NAPIER, Oct, 19. The municipal baths, built on the Marine Parade by the Napier Borough Council at a cost cf between £6OOO ~m i £7OOO, were declared open this evening by the Mayor (Mr. J. \ Igor Brc’-n M.P.), who appeared in his official’robes for the first time The Piths have seating accommodation for 800 spectators, but nearly 2000 were admitted to-night, and hundreds failed to gain admission. The swimming bath is 100 feet long and 50 feet wide, and there are other baths and an extremely complete equipment. After the formal proceedings to-night, there was a procession of swimmers, followed by a~ gymkhana.
