He condemns the Government’s reckless socialism. THE INCREMENT TAX. (Received October 21, 9.15 p.m.) LONDON, October 21. The Lords have completed the report ;.stage of the Irish Land Bill. The House of Commons has agreed to the .first sixteen clauses of the Bud.get Bill. Several supporters of the ■ Government are dissatisfied with the 7th clause, believing that all agricultural land should not be exempted from the increment tax.
An amendment designed to prevent agriculturalists paying increment tax upon their own improvements was rejected by 218 to 102. Mr. Lloyd-George stated that no real hardship was involved. -
