AUSTRALIAN SILVER COINAGE
ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE FIRST INSTALMENT. United Association— copyright (Received October 24, 5.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE, October 24. The Federal Treasurer has asked the Imperial Minister for authority to send out £200,000 worth of florins, shillings, sixpences, and threepenny pieces as a first instalment of the Australian silver coinage. In the meantime arrangements are being made to withdraw £IOO,OOO worth of the present silver currency.
