DRIVER ARRESTED FOR MANSLAUGHTER.

[Per Press Association.! CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 24

W. A. Humphreys, driver of the motor car which met with an accident on Labor Day, returning from the volunteer manoeuvres at Yaldhurst, whereby Captain Pavitt lost his life, was arrested to-day on a charge of manslaughter. He was formally charged, and released on bail, himself in £2OO and one surety of £4OO. He is to appear in Court tomorrow morning, when the police will apply for a further remand.
