RECEPTION AT AUCKLAND.

AUCKLAND, Oct. 24. A number of the delegates to the recent Congress of Chambers of Commerce of the Empire in Sydney arrived in Auckland last night by the express from Rotorua, being met at the Auckland railway station by the president (Mr. B. Kent) and the council of the Auckland Chamber. This afternoon they were taken for a motor ride to One Tree Hill and thence to the residence of the Hon. E. Mitchelson, at Itemuera, where they were entertained at afternoon tea. To-morrow morning the s.s. Kestrel will leave the Ferry Co’s wharf at 9.30 a.m. with the delegates on a harbor trip, calling at the sugar works and the Calliope Dock. Sir Albert Spicer, president of the Congress, will arrive in Auckland from Rotorua on Monday night. Arrangements are being made by the Chamber for his entertainment.
