WELLINGTON J.C. SPRING MEETING. [Pint Press Association.! WELLINGTON, Oct. 23. The Wellington spring meeting concluded to-day in dull, showery weather. The course and enclosures were in a wet, sloppy state after the recent heavy rains. The attendance was good. The sum of £12,347 passed through the totalisator, making £20,701_ for the meeting. This qmount is £3596 behind that, of the corresponding meeting last year. Twenty-two bookmakers were licensed, ten inside and twelve outside. Won By six lengths. Time, lmin 39sec. Juvenile Handicap 200 sovs, 4 furlongs.—Lord Kelvin 8.0 1, Winning Post 8.2 2, Saxifrage 8.3 3. Also started: Master Laddo, Bonus, Inspection, and Long Step. Won by three lengths. Time, 54 l-ssec. Pearce Handicap, 300 sovs, 1 mile. — Merrie Zealand 8.2 1, Aberbrothock 7.11 2, Chanteuse 7.6 3. Also started: Muskerry, Woodhey. Flitaway, Roosevelt. Irish Rifle, Iranui, San Fernando, and Swimming Belt. Won by three parts of a length, half a length between second and third. Time, lmin 53sec.
