Steyn (ex-President of the Orange Free State), interviewed on the <eve of sailing for South Africa, declared that a coalition Ministry was 'impossible at present, but the existing Ministers might form a Union Government. He protested against the agitation against Mr. Hertzog’s Educational Act, -which he declared, was workdug well, and -would keep the scales ■■even between the two nationalities. He added: “The Union should take -over the protectorates at the earliest possible imoment. So long as the Imperial Governmentdias direct control of the natives, Imperial interference is ;possible.
