MANAWATU SPRING SHOW

INCREASE IN THE ENTRIES. [Per Press Association.! PALMERSTON N., October 25. The entries for the Manawatu Spring Show next month total 3415, of these horses contribute 338 in classes and 291 in competitions. Cattle, all classes, total 244. Ayrsbires and Jerseys .are the strongest classes, and Shorthorns and fat cattle next in numerical order. The sheep total 510, the Romney and Down classes being strongest, the Romneys * particularly. The pig entries total 79, dogs 440, the art and technical schools section 516, and public schools 596. Practically the whole Dominion is represented in the classes this year, the opening of the Main Trunk line accounting for numerous entries from Auckland and Waikato. The total entries show a considerable increase on last year’s figures.
