CATHOLIC BISHOP OF AUCKLAND.
FORTHCOMING EPISCOPAL VISITATION. The Right Rev. Dr. Lenihan, Roman Catholic Bishop of Auckland, is to arrive at Gisborne tomorrow on liis triennial episcopal visitation. He is to be accompanied by the Rev. Father Tiger, and will take up his residence at St. Mary’s Presbytery. On Sunday next there will be a plain Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 7.30 a.m., at which the Bishop is expected to officiate. High Mass will be sung by tlie Rev. Father Tiger at 10.30 a.m., in the presence of His Lordship. It is expected that a fine rendering of the music of this Mass will be given, as the church choir has been very diligent in practice. There will be a Confirmation service at 7 p.m., when the Bishop will confer the Sacrament of Confirmation upon 'Upwards of one hundred young people, prepared by the Rev. Father Lane. His Lordship will preach, _ and the service will conclude with the rosary and benediction. On Monday evening Bishop Lenihan will hold a confirmation service at St. Bede’s Church, Ormond, when about 60 candidates for the Sacrament will be presented by the Rev. Father Dignan. After the service a reception will be tendered to His Lordship in the Ormond Hall. Next Tuesday the Bishop will receive a welcome in St. Mary’s Hall, where addresses are to be presented from the parishioners and tlie school children. On the following day he is to leave Gisborne for Wellington.
