Some German newspapers suggest that the Racconigi meeting resulted in a Russo-Italian arrangement to prevent Austria’s further advance southwards. The “National Zeitung” considers itself justified in warning Germany to pursue a cautious external policy. The “Krem Zeitung” urges Germanv to avoid an ostrich-like attitude. It expresses distrust of Italy. LONDON, Oct. 26. The “Times” Berlin correspondent reports that the bulk of the German press show a grim determination to make the best of the situation.
