The.entries for the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s Metropolitan Show received to date outnumber those of last year’s show by about one hundred. Further', entries will be taken at the Rangiora show tomorrow. TIMARU. TIMARU, Oct. 28. The weather was fine and there was a record • attendance at the People s Dav of the Timaru show. The gate receipts wer^ 1 £32 better than last year. The competitions passed oil well; the splendid displays by hunters being a great attraction. In thoroughbreds, the championship went to Elworthy Bros.’ Finland, 111 carnage stallions to Mr.' Williams’ Father O’Flynn, in hackneys to Mr. WethelJls Defender 11., in draught stallions to Mr. J. Weir’s Balgowrie, and in draught mares to Mr. T. Taylor’,s Jean Armour.
