THE DATE OP OBSERVANCE. [Pur Press Association.! NAPIER, Oct. 28. At a well-attended public meeting of business people last night, it was ascertained that it was now too late to alter the date of observance of the King’s Birthday holiday this year to Monday, November Bth, and it was decided to keep the holiday on Tuesday, the 9th, but a resolution was passed in favor of public holidays being held on the nearest Monday to the day on which such holiday would ordinarily be held.
