ANNUAL CONFERENCE. [Per Press Association*! WELLINGTON, Oct. 28. The Labor Conference, by 22 votes to 2, adopted a motion that the time had arrived when the Trades and Labor Councils should take'uefiuite action m endeavoring to return Labor members to Parliament. Tho Conference passed resolutions urging the Government to nationalise the iron industry, open State coal mines and depots, institute a* State ferry service Between the Nortu and South Islands, establish State hoot and clothing factories and flourmills, bring down a scheme to utilise the Dominion’s water-power, and acquire the mail-carrying service. It was resolved that the Arbitration Act should be amended so that seven men might form a union.
