TIMARU, October 30; ; 145 competitors started for the Tim-iiru-Christclxurcli road race this morning. - There was a hot sun and a fahit easterly breeze. The first competitor started at 8.44, and the scratch man at 9.30. One thousand persons witnessed the start. Inivood' (Ouraki) lost thirteen minutes through a, puncture at the start. ■ ■£; CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 30. The eyenng roacl race, 112 miles, from Tirnaru to Christchurch, took place to-day. J. Arnst (scratch), who gained twelfth* place, put up the fastest time, .6 hours 341 minutes. The following are the _ corrected actual riding times of the first six to finish: R.
