RIFLE SHOOTING.
THE KING’S MATCH. United Press Association —Copyright MELBOURNE, October 30. The Final range of the King’s match was shot during a troublesome wind. Williams (Victoria) finished with a total of 321, French (Victoria) being two points behind; Menning (New South Wales) 314. The New Zealanders dropped hack at the long range, and none finished prominently, hut James carried off the coveted prize for the Syme championship, with an aggregate score of 575, heating Williams, winner of the King’s match by a single point. There was an exciting finish. James and Patrick won one pound each in the Stuart match, McConnell a pound in the King’s match. Willoughby £4 and James £3, Munro, Patrick, anti Clyde a pound in the_ Templeton match, which was won by Knight (South Australia) with a score* of 49, Willoughby was fifth with 47. (Received Nov. 1, 12.50 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Oct. 31. Munro scored 310, and filled 10th 7)1 ace in the King’s match. He won £5, Patrick and James (306) won £3 each, Masefield (288) £2. THE CHAMPION AGGREGATE. In the champion aggregate Patrick scored 558- and Munro 556, receiving £3 each, Masefield 547 £2, Clyde 372, Willoughby 524, McConnell 523, £1 each. THE SARGOOI) MATCH. • In the Sargood match James took £1 added toßiis other success, winning the Motty rifle, presented by the British Small Arms Company, valued at 10 guineas, for fne highest aggregate at all ranges, three to seven hundred yards. Only four'points separated the first six in the champion aggregate.
