SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30. (Before Air AA’. A. Barton, S.AI.) DRUNKENNESS. John Allen -was convicted of having been found drunk in a public, place, after being three times previously convicted within the past six months. The last time he was before the Court was for having broken a prohibition order then in force against him, and on that occasion he was -bound over to come up for judgment if called upon. He was now sentenced to 10 days’ bard labor without the .option of a fine. John Hunter, who was found drunk in an oivtlioqse on Friday night, was fined 10s, and 2s costs, or 48 hours’ imprisonment. William Thompson, who did not appear, was fined £l, inclusive of costs, the amount of his bail. Two first offenders were each fined the usual 5s and 2s costs. INDECENT CONDUCT. Lionel Nolan, Robert O’Neill, and Herbert Crane, three Auckland young men, were convicted of indecent conduct in Bright Street on Friday night. They were under the influence of liquor at the time. Mr Burnard. appeared on behalf of the accused. Mr Barton, who characterised the case as a most disgusting one, sentenced each of the accused to 7 days’ hard labor. ALLEGED THEFT. James Campbell was charged with stealing a pair of canvas boots, value 5s the property of Norman Anderson, who resides ait the Strand Cafe* The accused took the boots and left a pair in ©xchange. iHe explained that a man named Perry Had lent him the boots. He had no intention of stealing them,
and had -gone back to the .boardinghouse when he met the prosecutor. Tho case was ladjourndu to Monday to enable Perry to be found if possible.
