rPnu Press Association.! BLENHEIM,. Nov. 2. The weather is threatening to-day for the continuation of jubilee week. This morning the Governor opened the Marlborough A. and P. Association s Show, which, in every respect, is the best ever held) in the distinct. All the important implement manufacturers of the Dominion are exhibiting, and the Agricultural Department have an attractive display. The show of cereals is a splendid one* and is a special feature. Lord Plunket also paid a visit to the veterans’ cricket match, _ which is Extracting a great deal of interest. This afternoon visiting bandsmen were welcomed at a garden party, and m the evening the band contest commenced, and the A. and P. Association’s banquet was held. The Governor returned to Wellington to-night. Later.

The Jubilee Agricultural and Pastoral Show is of record character, the exhibts far exceeding those of previous years in both number and quality. The Governor and the Hon. T. Mackenzie Minister of Agriculture, were in _ attendance. The sheep, which were judged to-day, were a fine lot, especially in half-breds. All 1 championships were were won by local exhibitors. The display of machinery and implements is also far in excess of previous years exhibitions. The Minister of Agriculture attended the Association’s banquet to-night, at which he made a strong plea for preferential tariff relations with the Old Country > whose fiscal policy, he said was not in the interests* 1 of the Colonies. One of the greatest features of the Show is the Government Agricultural Department's exhibits of cereals, honey, stock diseases, noxious weeds, pests, etc.
