The election of Mr. McCarthy as Mayor of San Francisco, Mr. Ficker.t as District Attorney, and a complete Labor Union ticket, is considered by many as the end of the graft prosecutions, and the triumphant return to power of the old Schurz-Ituef regime in its worse aspects.
[Ruef, a former Labor Mayor of San Francisco, was found guilty of gross corruption.]
