The Thursday competition matches were resumed at the Victoria Domain and Taruheru yesterday afternoon. The weather was dull, but fine. At Taruheru, Alhambra met and at the Domam United tried conclusion with Te Rau.

ALHAMBRA v. Y.M.C.A

Alhambra met Y.M.C.A. at Taruheru yesterday afternoon, the wicket being very sodden after the rain, and runs hard to get. Dang won the toss from Hunt and took Babbs in with him to bat. ’With 15 runs on, Lang was run out for 7. Stitohbury and Babbs carried the score to 61 before the former was caught for a good innings ot 24. West came in and scored Id, when Babbs was caught out lor a nicelyplayed 33. Gorman was the only other man to make double figures, and battin" one man short, the innings closed for = 105. On Y.M.C.A. going in, -they were quickly sent back again for the small Total of 25. Grant, Rowan and Hunt were the only scorers, lor Al : hambra West bowled well, getting o wickets for 8 runs, and doing the hat trick. For Y.M.C.A. Hunt was the most successful bowler, getting tour wickets for 14 runs. Rewai also bowled well, although getting no wickets, he sent down ten overs for 11 runs and four maidens. Alhambra went in tor their second innings, and lost four wickets for 36 runs, thus winding up the day’s play with a lead of 110, with six wickets in hand.
