ENTERTAINMENTS

PATHE PICTURES. The Pathe Pictures were exhibited again in His Majesty’s Theatre last night, and were well received. This afternoon and to-night a complete change of programme will be shown at His Majesty’s Theatre. The star picture amongst an excellent budget is entitled “The White Chief,” a stirring dramatic film 'in which beautiful costumes are worn by those portraying the different characters. Another splendid film, is “The Human Sacrifice. “A Heroine of the Force” keeps one on the tip-toe of expectancy awaiting melodramatic developments. “Mother Love in Animals” lias evoked rounds of applause wherever shown. There is much of the wealth of spectacle that picture lovers associate with scenic films in “A Train Ride in Bombay.” “Ralph Benefits by his Curiosity” is a rollicking comic picture. A milleary picture of great merit is “A Few Minutes with the Mexican Army.’ On the night of Tuesday, the Ring’s Birthday, as a special holiday attraction, the management lias decided to hold a comic song competition, open to local amateurs. A prize of one guinea, will he given to the winner. The audience are to be the judges. Entries are to be in not*later than Monday night, accompanied by the title and words of tlio song.
