A man named Alex. McGregor, a laborer, residing at Wangaehu, was killed by a goods train at Wangaehu late to-night. His body was frightfully maugled. WOMAN’S BODY FOUND. WELLINGTON, Nor. 5. The dead body of Minnie Curran, single, aged. 45, on holiday from Dunedin, was found off Seatoun beach today. FATALITY ON SOUTH ISLAND MAIN TRUNK LINE. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 5. The first express from the south tonight, when approaching Islington, ran int-o a horse and trap. The driver was killed, and the other occupants thrown out, but not seriously injured. Later.—Sydney Charles Free, dentist, of Christchurch, was driver of the trap which was smashed up by the big railway train -near Islington tonight. The horse was also killed. Neither the driver nor the guard of the train saw the accident.
