PEOPLE’S DAY
fp nit Press 'Association,. 1 PALMERSTON N., Nov. 5. Fine weather still continues, and People’s Day of the Manawatu Spring Show was well up to the standard of .previous years. To-day there were 57 trains .running in and out or the station, and .since early morning specials have been arriving from north and south and the east coast, filled with excursionists. The judging was all completed yesterday, to-day being devoted entirely to inspection of the exhibits and to comptetitions. The attendance to-day was 25,000. The total takings at the gate and the stands exceeded those of last year by £BO. The weather was glorious, and the grand parade the finest. display or stock .seen for years. The big hunters lumping event was won by. the Auck-land-owned O’Rorke’s Cloister, v)it i Lovell second, and Fiji third. There were 52 entries. Miss Campbell (Wanfamuf won the ladies’ driving competition. Many visitors are staying tor the military tournament, winch promises to be a great success.
