IMPERIAL DEFENCE.
ADMIRAL SCOTT ON THE NAVY’S
EFFICIENCY
Unitici) Press Abbooiation— Copyright LONDON, Nov. 7.
At a dinner given by the Scottish Clans’ Association in London, Admiral Sir Percy Scott reaffirmed the navy’s unprecedented efficiency from the standpoint of organisation, training, and preparation for war, but remarked that the reforms securing this efficiency had not been introduced without a certain amount of obstruction, friction, and jealousy being manifested. He proceeded to, vehemently protest against the scandalous imputations made against the honesty and administrative capacity of the naval officers serving on the Board of Admiralty. -Happily the procedure was, he said, so adverse to the traditions of the navy and so contrary to good comradeship that it had not interfered with the carrying out of the necessary reforms, and had not shaken the loyalty due by all naval officers to properly-constituted authority.
