The “Daily Telegraph” says that although it is probably correct to say that the visits of the Peninsular and Oriental Co.’s steamers to Auckland are experimental, the Peninsular and Oriental is not the company to embark in an enterprise whereof it does not forsee the end. The decision is one more tribute to Now Zealand s growing importance. Moreover, it affords travellers an opportunity of visiting Australian,. New Zealand, and Tasmanian ports without transhipment.
