RETALIATORY SHIPPING DUES

Owing to America under the new tariff reimposung the tonnage tax on ■the Great Lakes, Sir Wilfred Laurier iis about to retaliate. Only one Canadian passenger line and one freight line are now seriously affected, but •many American vessels carry grain from -Port Arthur to Buffalo. These will be subjected to a Canadian tax.
