Glorious weather prevailed yesterday on the occasion of the match between ,the .Motu cricketers and a selected Gisborne eleven. The ' game was played at Taruheru, and the wicket was in excellent order. The game resulted in .a win for the Gisborne team by 92 runs. Gisborne scored 201, Hodge 55 liot out, Armstrong 38, Lasker 28, and Hunt 27 being the .principal contributors. Alofn on going in to bat totalled 109 before the last-man was dismissed, AV, Heed 25, F. Hansen 13, W. Andrews 13 scoring the best. For Gisborne wickets were obtained by BarkcT, Davies, Manning, and Armstrong, and for the visitors W. Heed, L. Andersen, and E. Dorecourt were tho most o rful bowlers. JUNIOR AIATCH. Although two matches were arranged to take place on the Domain, Married r. Single, and a combined junior match, only the latter game eventuated, a number of those selected to play in the former not putting in an appearance. The junior game was between UnitedY.M.C.A. and Wanderers-Alhambra, and resulted in a win for the former combination. The winners in their two innings scored 120 and 50 for 4 wickets. Munro 25, Jones 37, Atkinson 25, and Panps 12 and 21 being the chief contributors. Alliambra-Wanderers soared 61 and 82, Robb, Fitzgerald, Burke, and Hogg making most of the runs. For the winners the bowling honors were secured by Jones, Munro, and Mill, and for the losers West, Sim, and Muldoon were the most successful trundlers.
