ROWING.

GISBORNE CLUB

The final race in the B grade for Mr. R. Robertson’s trophy was rowed on Saturday evening, between Messrs F. H. W. Traill ’s and H. Puflett’s crews. Traill’s boat, on the left side of the .stream, got the better of the start,_ and rowing a stronger and slightly quicker stroke than their opponents, were a clear length ahead by the time the bridge was reached. Here, however, Puflett’s four made a great effort, and the other crew had to row all they knew. The backward boat slowly improved its position, but Traill held them, and was still half-a-length ahead when the finishing post was passed.
