earmarking stock.
(Special to “Times.”) WELLINGTON, Nov. 19. The Stock Committee of the House reported to-day on the petition of Mrv W. Maddison, of Gisborne, who prayeck for the adoption for the benefit of the stock owners of the Dominion of his improved system of earmarking hve stock. The committee recommended that the Government be requested to make inquiries with the view of bringing in some improved general system or earmarking stock.. TWO INTERESTING RETURNS WANTED. Mr. Phillipps (Waitomata) has given notice of a motion for a couple of returns which will-bo looked forward to with some interest. In the first , place lie wants to know the total cost to the Dominion of the attendance of the Premier and his secretary or secretaries at> the recent naval conference in England, tho return to include travelling, secretarial, and all incidental expenses. Next, he asks for a similar return respecting the trip to England of the Solicitor-General, who accompanied Sir Joseph Ward, and of Detective Cassells, who went Home in the same steamer as the Premier.
